36. Hell is for Cool People?
Tuesday Apr 12, 2022
Tuesday Apr 12, 2022
In our fourth episode of season 4 Pastor's John & Jeff sit down to discuss the question of, "Is hell where the fun & cool people are"? In this follow up to last episode we see a common misconceptions about hell through the lens of pop culture. Often in media (memes, cartoons, TV, movies, songs) we see a depiction of hell that is either comical or where cool people are. Juxtaposed to this is the idea that the people in heave are bored/boring sitting on clouds playing harps. Jeff and John discuss the historic roots of the issue in pop culture as well as within theology to address the question directly on how hell is horrific in every sense and heaven is incredible in every sense! Check it out!

Tuesday Mar 29, 2022
In our third episode of season 4 Pastor's John & Malcom sit down to discuss the question of, "Does God send people to hell for not loving Him back"? One of the most common misconceptions about God and His character centers around the idea that God is a "jealous boyfriend" type of God who is sending people to hell who spurn His love. Malcolm and John discuss the historic roots of the issue in pop culture as well as within theology to address the question directly on how God isn't so much sending people to hell as He is saving people from hell! 34. God Hates fun!?
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
In our second episode of season 4 Pastor's John & Erich sit down to discuss the first of our topics in "Pillars & Problems" on if God hates fun or not. Many people in pop-culture have poked fun at Christianity and God for being buzzkilers who thrive on the mundane and stealing fun from others. But is this true, and where does this mindset come from? Erich and John discuss the historic roots of the issue and address the question directly on how God wants us to have even more than just FUN in this life and the next. Check it out!

33. War in Ukraine
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
Tuesday Mar 15, 2022
In our first episode of season 4 Pastor's John & Sean sit down to discuss the Ukrainian Crisis. How should Christians conceptualize war? Is there a certain way we should respond to global conflict? How has the church approached these questions historically and what should I do....if I can do anything? All these questions and more are addressed as Sean & John scratch the surface of this challenging topic.
Pastor's John & Sean do not claim to be subject matter experts in foreign policy or in Just War Theory. However, the purpose of the conversation is to help equip listeners to engage the topic from a Biblical worldview and not just a political one. This is a very difficult subject and the theology around it cannot be solved in one podcast, but it can help us understand how we process information and world events while centering our hearts on Christ and His kingdom.
For a deeper look at Ethics/Just War Theory check out Episode 11 from season 1 where we sat down with Chaplain (COL) Larry Dabeck to discuss those ideas in depth.

To answer these questions from a pastoral perspective Pastor's John & Erich sat down to have a candid conversation.
